The 11th National Conference of the (BTJ) Youth Technical Brigades, having as a main topic the participation of the new generations in the national economic model update, initiated with the passing of documentary Fidel CastroCaudal de Río, which recalls the leader’s participation in the UN Summit on Environment in 1992.

The University of Computer Sciences (UCI) in Havana is hosting this event until next Saturday with the turnout of  300 delegates, representing bodies and institutions closely related to the work of the BTJ.

President of this movement Ricmar Rodríguez Gutiérrez referred to this national conference as a summary of a broad organic process developed last January and also, as an indispensable tribute to Fidel.

The young leader said that this Friday the vocational training and career guidance of the youth; the youngests’ initiative geared to local and community development; the attention to young scientists; the contribution to the environmental education of children, adolescents and young adults, as well as the work of BTJ will be issues to be approached in work commissions.

The 11th Conference also includes the 15th National Builders of the Future Exhibition and the eleventh EcoJoven environmental forum, where different papers will be presented.

This Saturday morning, the attendants will receive information on the Cuban economic model update and the Life Task; while in the afternoon, the work of the BTJ in the last few years will center the analysis, and especially, how the youth can contribute to the future of the country. Likewise that day will see the prize-giving of the scientific events and the presentation of the new executive board of the movement.

Through this event we seek to keep strengthening and dinamizing the BTJ, by enhacing its basis and boosting its leadership, Rodríguez Gutiérrez stressed. We must be driven by the premise that we should -and we can- be more useful in the promotion of tasks related to science, technique and economy, giving more support to the Revolution from this movement.
