Mexico's ambassador to Cuba, Enrique Martinez Martinez thanked on Tuesday in Havana, the island's government and people for the enormous support and solidarity after the plane crash last Friday which inflicted the death of over 100 passengers among them 7 Mexican citizens.
In statements to the national and foreign press, the diplomat who went to the Legal Medicine Institute, expressed gratitude to the Cuban authorities for the aid given to the families of the crewmembers that were on the flight that was to cover the route Havana-Holguin.
He said that the family of the six crewmembers are already in Havana to identify their loved ones and the relatives of the Mexican tourist Isela Savala Franco is to arrive on Wednesday.
The ambassador pointed out that the experts of the Mexican Civil Aeronautics Office is cooperating with the local authorities in the site of the crash as stipulates the international regulations to continue investigating the causes of the accident.
The family of the two passengers that were also killed in the accident from the Saharawi Arab Republic are also in the Legal Medicine Institute, representatives of its diplomatic mission in Havana together with the Cuban family that are waiting to identify their loved ones.
Martinez said that Cuba and Mexico have had moments of light in its history, today is a sad day, together in solidarity and as brothers and sisters due to the tragedy and we are doing all we can to support the families.
As of Tuesday night, 50 bodies have been identified among the 45 Cuban nationals, four Mexicans and one Saharawi, informed Dr. Segio Rabell, Director of the Legal Medicine Institute.
The recent bodies identified on Tuesday are from the province of Holguin Raymundo Guillermo Almenares Sanchez, 62; Jorge Luis Buitrago Cabrera, 50; Gisel Buitrago Santiesteban, 23; Ronni Alain Pupo Pupo, 38; Adonayda Morales Varona, 35, from Santiago de Cuba and Abderrahm Fadel Mustafa, 38 from the Saharawi Arab Republic.
In addition to the four Mexican crewmembers: Miguel Angel Arreola Ramirez, 40; Jorge Nunez Santos, 53; Marcos Antonio Lopez Perez, 30 and Guadalupe Beatriz Limon Garcia, 35.
