The 3rd International Symposium The Cuban Revolution: Genesis and Historical Development will be held Oct. 29-31 at the Convention Center in Havana.
In these turbulent and uncertain times, Cuba and its revolution continue to be a referent, which explains the broad response to each call to these biennial meetings, which began in 2015, said Dr. Yoel Cordovi Nuñez, president of the Institute of History of Cuba (IHC) and of the organizing committee of the forum.
He specified that 150 academics, political scientists, researchers and other specialists participated, a hundred of them representing Cuba and the rest coming from Germany, Bulgaria, Canada, Colombia, Chile, China, Spain, United States, Greece, Hungary, Mexico, Mongolia, Panama, Peru, Puerto Rico, Dominican Republic, Czech Republic, Sweden, Thailand, Uruguay and Venezuela.
We dedicate this 3rd International Symposium to Commander in Chief Fidel Castro Ruz, to his thought and work, and to his greatest legacy, which is the Revolution itself, on the 60th anniversary of the January triumph," the Cuban historian emphasized.
The diversity of themes ensures an in-depth analysis of the Cuban Revolution - not as an event, something that has already happened, but as a living and continuous process - from the historical, political, social, economic, cultural and many other points of view," Cordovi Nuñez added.
During this 3rd International Symposium, several books will be presented, as well as a collection of posters about the Cuban Revolution, 60 original pieces, most of them from the early years.
