Acosta Danza announces tour of Spain



HAVANA, Cuba, Aug 15 (ACN) The Spanish cities Perelada, Santander and Almansa will host this month the performances of the Cuban company Acosta Danza, directed by the first dancer Carlos Acosta.

According to Prensa Latina, the ensemble will perform at different artistic events, considered the most important of the Spanish summer, including the 33rd edition of the Castell Peralada Festival, the 50th International Festival of Theatre, Music and Dance in Murcia and the Palacio de los Festivales in Santander.
A selection of successful works from its repertoire make up the program of presentations, which includes the choreographies of the Spanish Goyo Montero titled Imponderable and Llamada, as well as the pieces Mermaid, by Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui, performed as a duet by Acosta and Marta Ortega.
Also noteworthy in the selection Twelve, by Spanish Jorge Crecis, which requires the dancers a maximum physical and mental disposition, with sporting and mathematical elements, and Two, by Russell Maliphant, danced by the director of the group.
Since its stage debut, this company has defined itself as a space for renewal, research and experimentation for Cuban artists and at the same time has opened its doors to foreign creators such as choreographers, musicians, designers, plastic artists and audiovisual producers.
