LA PAZ.- Mass rallies and a great gathering in Plaza de San Francisco, were staged in La Paz, where the people gave support to the nomination of the Bolivian president Evo Morales for the 2019 elections, to keep advancing the process of change, PL reported.
The demonstrators marched from the neighboring city El Alto and from other points of that city congregating downtown in support of the appeal lodged before the Constitutional Court to allow the national, departmental and municipal authorities to run for re-election.
The mass was made up by indigenous, peasants, workers, miners, coca leave producers, women, youngsters and representatives of other social sectors. Around noon, the Plaza de San Francisco was overcrowded by thousands of people with Bolivian flags and wiphalas (symbol of the Andean people), waiting for the speeches of the main leaders of social organizations from La Paz. ABI reported.
“This is a great day for the entire Bolivia” President of the Civic Committee of La Paz Clemente Gutiérrez, who highlighted how much Bolivia has advanced in last 11 years since the leader came to power.
The top leader of the Federation Neighborhood Councils (Fejuve) of La Paz, mentioned among the achievements in the nationalization of natural resources and in the strategic companies. There is work and investment in the country, people want results, the neighbors want projects and in that context Fejuve will continue to support President Evo Morales in his nomination”, he told the reporters.
The mass demonstration in the capital gives continuity to that initiated last October 26th in Cochabamba and will spread to other cities in support of the Head of state and the democratic cultural revolution.
