After a blowout over Argentina last Friday, the Cuban U-23 team remained undefeated at the expense of Brazil on Saturday in a shutout victory (2-0) in which there was a bit about everything, but powerful offensive.

On the mound were two talented Cuban pitchers: leftyUlfrido García, who performedfor eight scoreless innings, and closer Raidel Martínez, helped by first baseman Oscar Luis Colás, with a play which is rather anecdotal than commonplace in official baseball, the hidden ball.

Short-stopYolbert Sánchez excelled at bat with two hits, one of them a RBI two-base hit, driving in the first score in the fifth inning, and he himself scored the definitive in the eight.

News from Panama are coming little by little, almost all of them through tweets from colleagues, since the tournament does not have a website, making the access to information and official statsmore difficult.

Nonetheless, JR learned that, Yousimar Cousin will probably be the starting pitcher against Venezuela, winner over Puerto Rico (3-1).

Other results on Saturday showed Honduras’ victory over Peru 8-7 and Mexico’s over Dominican Republic 10-4. The game between Colombia and Argentina was rain-delayed when Colombia had 8-0 lead. At closure Costa Rica vs Panama.
