HAVANA, Cuba, Mar 23 (acn) Cuban Arlenis Sierra will continue her participation in the 2018 UCI Women´s World Cycling Tour, in Belgium, where she will attend three races from next Sunday.
The first competition will be the Gent-Wevelgem, on March 25; to then attend on the 28th the A Travers La Flanders; and on April 1st, she will run in the Tour of Flanders, she told JIT sports publication via Facebook.
She clarified that only the first and third of those races grant points to the UCI World Tour.
Sierra´s last competition this season was last Sunday in the WT third official event, the Alfredo Binda Trophy-Comune di Cittiglio, in Italy, where she ranked second in 2017, but this time she finished 12 th, but she didn´t attend the fourth event.
The Cuban rider, 25, is currently hired by the Kazakh-based-in-Italy-club Astana and she ranks 19th in the 2018 WT individual ranking with 85 points.
Another Cuban, Heidy Pradera, who is only 20, is also running with Astana, but she is only gaining experience for future competitions.
