A lo largo de su carrera este compositor musical, pianista y actor estadounidense, ha recibido nueve Grammy
John Stephens, conocido como John Legend, nació el 28 de diciembre de 1978, en Springfield, Ohio. Cantante de R&B y neo soul, compositor musical, pianista y actor estadounidense, debutó en el mundo discográfico con el álbum Get Lifted (2004), que recogió temas como Used to Love U y Ordinary People, los cuales se convirtieron en grandes éxitos. Con Get Lifted consiguió tres nominaciones a los Grammy, en la entrega 47 de este galardón, en la que conquistó finalmente el premio al Mejor álbum de R&B. Igualmente fue nominada la canción que coescribió con Janet Jackson titulada I Want You.
Después de la salida de su ópera prima ha sido convocado por afamadas agrupaciones e intérpretes para que colabore con ellos. Ese ha sido el caso, por ejemplo, de Magnetic Man (Getting Nowhere), Kanye West (All of the Lights), Slum Village (Selfish), Dilated Peoples (This Way), Jay Z (Encore), Alicia Keys (You Don´t Know My Name), Britney Spears (Against the Music), Herbie Hancock y Pink (Don´t give up) y Fort Minor (High Road).
En octubre de 2006, Legend dio a conocer su segundo álbum, Once Again, que contiene la canción Heaven, la cual conquistó otro Grammy en el apartado de Mejor interpretación masculina de R&B. Más tarde vendrían los fonogramas Evolver y Love in the Future.
Como actor ha intervenido en películas como Soul Men (2008), junto a Samuel L. Jackson y Bernie Mac; The People Speak (2009) y Dancing with the Stars (2010), así como en episodios de series al estilo de Sesame Street y Royal Pains.
A lo largo de su carrera ha recibido nueve Grammy. En la edición de este premio correspondiente a 2014, Legend se presentó con su canción All of Me, que enseguida se colocó en la primera posición del Billboard Hot 100, propuesta con la que hoy lo presentamos en ¡De Impacto!
En el año 2015, John Legend recibió el Oscar como compositor por la mejor canción original gracias al tema Glory, perteneciente a la película Selma.
