HAVANA, Oct 16 (ACN) Increasing offer, boosting national production and privileging the efficiency of equipment are the central pillars supporting the restructuring of retail and wholesale trade in the country, said Betsy Diaz Velazquez, Cuba's Minister of Domestic Trade, at the Mesa Redonda TV program.
After the Cuban government announced measures for the sale of goods in convertible currencies (CUC) or their importation, Diaz Velazquez noted that these changes reflect the proposals made in two of the Economic and Social Policy Guidelines of the Party and the Revolution.
The minister stressed that after-sales services will be provided: the equipment sold will be guaranteed repair, maintenance or return in terms of compensation, as well as established for other products currently marketed in the country.
Diaz Velazquez added that they assessed the products that should be maintained in the CUC network, economic line and basic need and some that respond to policies and social programs systematically verified.
These will be available in the CUC network of stores as far as possible, and incorporate water pumps, semi-automatic washing machines, mixers, blenders, fans and automobile accesories that respond to road safety.
This is a gradual and staggered process, where hoarding and price speculation must be avoided, so prices will be permanently reviewed and communication channels have also been established to receive complaints and respond to doubts and concerns, the minister stressed.
