LAS TUNAS, Cuba, Oct 11 (acn) Pablo Civil, manager of Las Tunas, said that being chosen as head coach of the Eastern team in the All-Star Game of the 57th Cuban National Baseball Series would be a high honor and a very important moment in his sports career.
Civil told ACN that there are possibilities of being in charge of the Eastern squad due to the performance of his side in the current season, but he prefers to wait for the decision of the National Baseball Commission.
When there are only three games left (two with Artemisa and one with Industriales) to cover all the entire schedule of the qualifying stage, Las Tunas appears second in the standings, 1.5 games behind Industriales, and 3 and 3,5 ahead of Pinar del Rio and Matanzas, respectively.
Six players of Las Tunas were chosen to be part of the Eastern side and the list includes pitchers Yoalkis Cruz, Yudiel Rodriguez and Yosbel Alarcon, catcher Yosvani Alarcon, 1B Rafael Viñales and outfielder Jorge Jhonson.
