Cuba to face USA in the Men's Basketball World Cup Americas Qualifiers

Cuba will face away USA tomorrow on the third matchday of the China 2019 FIBA Men's Basketball World Cup Americas qualifiers.

Included in Group C of the tournament, the Cuban team arrives to this tough game with two losses and no win; while United States (2-0) will try to maintain its unbeaten status.
The Caribbean squad debuted in this qualifying stage with a 66-72 away loss to Mexico; and then lost 72-95 at home against Puerto Rico.
It will be fundamental for the Cubans to counteract the accurate aim of the Americans, who although will not lineup their main figures, any of their players have a very high level and they so far rank second in three-point shots in the competition.
The 16 teams involved in the qualifiers fight for one of the seven tickets awarded to the American continent to China 2019 WC.

Etecsa and SES Networks sign agreement for satellite services

 The Empresa de Telecomunicaciones de Cuba S. A. (Etecsa) and SES Networks of Luxembourg signed an agreement for satellite capacity services.

The bilateral agreement will make it possible to diversify the island of Cuba's connectivity, complementing the existing one by means of optical fiber, through a medium-orbit satellite service, according to Etecsa's Directorate of Institutional Communication.

This is a high capacity service and very similar in some quality parameters to fiber, guaranteeing additional capacities that support the internet service to national users.

SES Networks is one of the world's market leaders in satellite communications services and a pioneer in many important aspects of the development of this industry.

The Luxembourg company provides satellite communications services to content providers, internet, fixed and mobile network operators, governments and institutions.

A bizarre rumor that Sylvester Stallone is dead is sweeping the internet once again – 18 months after it first surfaced.

Facebook users reported seeing a fraudulent message in September 2016 claiming Stallone had been found dead at his LA home.
