HAVANA, Cuba, Oct 31 (ACN) The First Vice President of the Councils of State and Ministers of Cuba, Miguel Díaz-Canel, received Monday morning Suresh Prabhu, Minister of Commerce and Industry of India, who heads a large delegation of businessmen will participate in the XXXV International Fair of Havana.

Díaz-Canel thanked the visitor for the donations of medicines, tractors and agricultural implements made by the Indian Government that will contribute to the recovery of the damages caused by Hurricane Irma and that ratify the solidarity and brotherhood of the government and Indian people with the Cuban people.

Among other issues, the First Cuban Vice President and the Indian Minister discussed the deepening of the links between the two governments and peoples, based on the historical ties between both nations.

They also evaluated the existing potential to expand and deepen bilateral economic, commercial and financial relations, which will contribute to the implementation of strategic projects for Cuban economic development.

Cuban Foreign Minister Rodrigo Malmierca and Foreign Minister Tsewang Namgyal, Ambassador of the New Delhi Government in Havana, and other members of the official delegation participated in the meeting on the Cuban side.

Prabhu's program includes meetings with Ricardo Cabrisas, vice president of the Council of Ministers and Cuban Minister of Economy and Planning, and other leaders of this Caribbean country.
