Brasil es la belleza de sus paisajes, la cordialidad de su gente, la genialidad de su fútbol. Pero además, es el ritmo inigualable de su samba, la melodía contagiosa de su bossa-nova, la magia de su música toda, que también será protagonista en el Mundial.
Como sus predecesoras, la cita universal tendrá su canción oficial y su banda sonora. El tema de referencia será esta vez We Are One, y para su interpretación fueron elegidos cantantes de reconocido éxito como la estadounidense Jennifer López, el rapero cubano-americano Pitbull y la brasileña Claudia Leitte.
El tema musical tendrá el difícil reto de, al menos, acercarse a los niveles de preferencia que logró hace cuatro año la canción Esto es África, interpretada —y bailada— espectacularmente por la colombiana Shakira.
Pocos días después de su estreno, todo apunta a que quedará por debajo del vibrante Waka Waka o de La Copa de la vida, interpretada en 1998 por el boricua Ricky Martin. No obstante, pudiera conformarse con no llegar a la intrascendencia en el imaginario futbolero alcanzada por otros temas de corte anglosajón. En ese caso estarían Boom, cantada por la estadounidense Anastacia en la edición de Japón-Corea del Sur 2002, o The Time of Our Live, el sencillo entonado por la también norteña Toni Braxton para la versión de 2006 en Alemania, por solo citar par de ejemplos cercanos.
Tal vez asegurando una cuota de éxito a la propuesta, tanto Shakira como Ricky Martin fueron elegidos por los productores para formar parte del disco que recoge la banda sonora del venidero Mundial.
La voluptuosa barranquillera, que por su cuenta hizo Dare como homenaje al Mundial, presenta en el material discográfico el tema La La La, con la participación del brasileño Carlinhos Brown. Por su parte, Ricky interpreta Vida, una melodía escrita por el estadounidense Elijah King, que ganó el concurso de canciones convocado por la Federación Internacional de Fútbol Asociado (FIFA).
El disco, con el título One Love, One Rhythm The 2014 FIFA World Cup Official Album, fue presentado el pasado 12 de mayo e incluye además la canción Tatu Bom De Bola —tema de la mascota oficial del torneo—, interpretada por el brasileño Arlindo Cruz. En total, recoge 14 pistas ejecutadas por otras reconocidas estrellas internacionales y locales, como el guitarrista Carlos Santana, Alexander Pires y Sergio Mendes, entre otros.
Además, fue editada una edición de lujo que suma las canciones oficiales del Mundial y de la mascota, pero en versión remix.
